BUSHBUCKRIDGE – A gr. 10-learner of one of the secondary schools in Zoeknog Village handed himself over to police in Acornhoek on Wednesday after he had allegedly killed a fellow pupil with a knife.

According to provincial police spokesman, Brig Selvy Mohlala, the gr. 10 pupil had an argument with a gr. 9 learner the previous day. “The gr. 9 learner was busy buying food from informal traders at the school when the gr. 10 pupil attacked him with a knife, stabbed him fatally and fled the scene,” Mohlala said.

A few hours after police have launched a manhunt of the suspect, he handed himself over.

He appeared in court the following day.
