Lone woman hijacked at T-junction

The men sped off in the direction of Kaapsehoop with their victim's cell phone which was still in the vehicle.

A woman was hijacked on Tuesday morning. The incident occurred on the Kaapsehoop Road.

The young woman was overpowered by two armed men. According to Mr Jacques Meiring, operational manager of Bossie’s Community Justice, she was attacked just before 07:00 at the Hermansburg/Kaapsehoop road T-junction.

“Before she could turn off, two armed men appeared out of the bushed and pushed her out of her Nissa Lavina,” said Meiring. The men sped off in the direction of Kaapsehoop with their victim’s cell phone which was still in the vehicle.

She was picked up by a passing motorist and taken to Tarentaal SPAR to meet up with a friend. Fourtunately she sustained no injuries. At the time of going to press no arrests have been made and the vehicle had not been recoverd.
