The new Outback is unveiled
The new Subaru Outback, has surfaced amidst great expectation in Mbombela.

The Outback, crowned the 2014 tow car of the year exudes Subaru’s “Confidence in Motion” sales pitch. The launch at the local and new young dealership drew a small group of aficionado’s and potential customers.
It is not a small car by any means and much softer and less boxy in design than the previous model. Subaru designers has, however, done well to not loose that typical earthy adventure and authentic energy of the Outback model range and Subaru in general.
It’s 213mm ground clearance is still class leading and in combination with the symmetrical all-wheel drive system, it will continue to set the benchmark for off-road capability for a non-traditional 4×4 vehicle.
Subaru has certainly upped the stakes in terms of the Outback’s interior fit and finish – it is distinctly upmarket and includes an advanced touch-screen infotainment centre, a Harmon Kardon audio system in the petrol model and more.
The new Outback will be available in three engine derivatives: a 2.5i-S, a 3.6R-S and the 2.0D-S. And, if all goes well, I will shortly be driving one of these.
I can’t wait. But if you can’t wait for more details and a driving impression, the local team is waiting with bated breath to introduce you to their new prodigy.
