Store all your tools neatly in a secure box
Foldsafe, a practical fold-away security box that has been registered as a worldwide patent, was launched right here on the balcony of the Mercure Hotel in Mbombela on Thursday, March 20.
The launch offered those in attendance the opportunity to take a closer look at the secure storage unit with endless uses. Roy Smit of Safari Centre in Campworld described the product in a nutshell: “It’s very cool. You can use it to store your tools, which are expensive things and need to be stored securely. It’s 97 per cent waterproof, can’t rust, is very robust and you’re bakkie passenger’s can even sit on it!”
Pierre Zondagh, elaborates on the safety of Foldsafe: “The box has been designed to lock with a series of lips that interlock, which makes it impenetrable.” His wife, Jenni, instructed their daughter to get inside and playfully remarked, “You can even lock up problem teenagers inside a Foldsafe.”
The Foldsafe was the brainchild of a retired engineer and as is often the case with such inventions, it needed someone to get it to the open market. Pierre Zondagh, a businessman/developer with a keen sense for a quality business opportunity and partners, bought the sole licence and is doing just that. The launch in Mbombela was the first in the SA market and judged by the response – the world is waiting!
For many business people a bakkie is an essential tool. However, storage of tools and lose items on a single cab is always a headache and getting an extended cab bakkie is perhaps too expensive. Foldsafe is your answer.
But then, this product is so versatile that you would want to fit it on your double cab too. It will eliminate much of the clutter while offering the perfect storage bin when not needed. You see, the Foldsafe folds down to 65mm – a just about out-of-sight-out-of-mind configuration and then when you need it, it is simply unlocked – folds open and you can fill it with what ever tools, documents, photographic or hunting equipment and the rest that needs safe and secure storage. “As easy as taking candy from a kid,” as my dad used to say.
The Foldsafe is currently available in a 900mm size. Each box comes with its own unique key and lock, is very easy to install, powder coated and it is made from 1,8mm steel. Plans are afoot to extend the range to include a 600mm and a 1200mm boxes.
