Malelane resident winner of golden egg

MBOMBELA – When Esther van der Walt bought a Lowvelder on Friday, she definitely got more than she bargained for. She was the lucky winner in the SPAR Golden Easter Egg Hunt.

The competition was launched two weeks ago and Lowvelders were urged to buy a copy of the newspaper on March 27 and to search for the much-talked-about golden SPAR Easter egg.
A R10 000 SPAR Bucks voucher was up for grabs. Van der Walt lives in Malalane and travelled to the city to do her shopping on Friday. She bought a Lowvelder just like she does every week, but it wasn’t until later that afternoon when she returned home that she discovered the golden Easter egg on page 18.

“At first I thought it was a joke, but my children told me that I was the winner and that I should immediately call Amanda van Jaarsveldt,” she said. She couldn’t believe it.
“I will use the voucher as needed and to spoil my three children,” Van der Walt said. The Lowveld was buzzing with excitement when residents heard about the competition. It was the talk of the town and everyone wanted the golden egg.
