Young artist of the week: Palesa Mhlanga

CMDA delivers yet another star.

Although only 16 years old, this nightingale is already at home on stage.
Palesa Mhlanga of White River said she was born to sing. “It is my dream, my talent and I believe in that dream.”
The Casterbridge Music Development Academy (CMDA) is known for producing talented artists and CMDA definitely did not hold back when it introduced this firecracker.
“I mostly sing African songs, rock and R&B, although R&B is my favourite genre to listen to.”
Palesa performed at the Thlanganisa Music Festival in Mozambique in 2014. “This was one of the best experiences of my career at CMDA.”
She started singing when she was 13. “When I graduate from high school I would like to be a full-time singer and a part-time engineer. Singing is my life but I must make money somehow.”
In her short career as a vocalist she has already performed in front of big names in the South African industry like Richard Brokensha and Paige Mac Mahon.
Catch Palesa at the Uplands Music Festival from May 29 to May 31.
