Travel the road less travelled with Ironman
On road or off the beaten track, Ironman 4x4 is Australia’s leading 4x4 suspension and accessory designer and distributor supplying products for recreational users, fleet and mining vehicles and the defence industry in more than 160 countries worldwide.

Ironman 4×4 commenced business in 1958 and is still owned by the original founders, the Jacob family. Their history started as a Melbourne-based suspension parts manufacturer, called Jacob Spring Works (JSW). JSW Parts soon became known as a manufacturer and supplier of suspension parts for 4×4 vehicles in many parts of the world under the Ironman 4×4 brand. Today Ironman 4×4 operates five company owned warehouses in Melbourne, Newcastle, Brisbane, Townsville, Perth, an international export hub in Thailand as well as a regional warehouse in Johannesburg, South Africa and it stock over 5 000 different products.
Ironman 4×4 products are developed in some of the harshest proving grounds in the world including the Australian Outback, African savanna, Middle Eastern deserts and far eastern and South American jungles to name but a few. The core of the Ironman 4×4 product offering remains their fully integrated 4×4 suspension-enhancement programme.
This includes springs, shocks, suspension hardware as well as complete suspension kits containing matched components to transform the vehicle around the driver’s needs. Shock absorbers are the most important part of the suspension programme. Ironman 4×4 offers no less than three different types of shock absorbers – the Ironman 4×4 Nitro Gas shock – the Foam Cell Elite shock absorbers and then the newly launched Foam Cell Pro shock absorbers.
Over the past decade Ironman 4×4 has moved from being a suspension-only company to becoming a fully-fledged 4wd company. The product range includes among others full bumper-replacement bull bars, recovery winches, recovery gear and a recently launched range of camping accessories including fridge freezers and more. Since 2005, local company, Suspension Solutions, a division of the Brudaco Group of companies, has represented the Ironman 4×4 brand in southern Africa. On July 1, 2014 Ironman 4×4 Africa commenced trading as a 50 per cent joint venture between Brudaco Group and Ironman 4×4 Australia.
With this new venture has come a revamp of the distribution policy for the Ironman 4×4 brand across southern Africa. The product is therefore sold through accredited distributors of which there are around 200 throughout southern Africa.
Ironman 4×4 platinum dealerships are characterised by distinctive store branding as well as a comprehensive in-store product display. Ironman 4×4 Africa is excited to announce the appointment of Polyguard Industries Nelspruit as the new Ironman 4×4 platinum dealer in the Mbombela region.
Polyguard has been the home of Ironman 4×4 in the city for the past six years and Ironman 4×4 Africa is proud to be associated with this fine company. Coinciding with this platinum dealership appointment is the fact that Peter Fouche and his team at Polyguard Industries celebrate their 35th year in existence. This milestone will be emphasised at the relaunch of the business in mid-September.
