Having a medical-emergency kit available when the pawpaw strikes the fan - whether in the middle of nowhere or in the urban jungle - can be an absolute lifesaver.

With serious injuries, excessive bleeding needs to be controlled ASAP. And remember this, even if you do not have any first-aid knowledge but you have a kit, you may just be able to phone someone who can direct you in terms of the application of what you have, to manage the emergency on hand.
A space blanket is imperative in every kit. This will help and prevent your patient – it may even be you – from going into shock and experiencing hypothermia.
