Members of Landy club enjoy time in Marloth Park
The Lowveld Land Rover Owners Club (LLROC) weekend from August 7 to 10 at Marloth Park presented a number of initial challenges which can serve as a lesson for all campers - forgotten tent poles, bedding, tents and setting up on the wrong campsite but then, most campers have - at some point - experienced all of the latter and more.
The real weekend started on the Saturday under the guidance of André Engelbrecht who took the club through Grootdraai Farm (previously owned by the Maritz family) and along the Crocodile river – stopping every now and then to collect samples of plants. People saw some kudus, waterbucks and hippos along the way. Engelbrecht later present an interesting lecture on the collected plant samples at their picnic stop.
On their return home drive the next morning the Hunter family of Lydenburg was privileged to see a leopard near Phabeni Gate. Should you wish to join the LLROC and its activities contact Jaco Prinsloo on 082-859-5083.
