A promise that is fuelled by true passion

Avis is the “We try harder” company and when one interacts with John Pascoe, new owner and manager of the Nelspruit office, one realises just how much Avis’s promise is fuelled by sincere passion.

John’s exposure in the motoring industry and in particular with premium brands began in 1992. “This defined and dictated my business and service philosophy – the intention being to service and satisfies expectations beyond the norm.” In 1994 he acquired the Avis agency in Umhlanga.
In 2014 he acquired the Avis Van Rental agency for the Limpopo region inclusive of Tzaneen, Phalaborwa to as far as Hoedspruit. “We extended these services into the various game reserves.

Avis has since extended the Van Rental portfolio to also include extensively kitted off-road camping and normal trailers which can be used for weekend furniture removals. We will actually set-up the off-road trailer for the client if required, which again defines the dynamics of our customer service policies,” he says. In terms of weekend furniture removals Avis can now offer a complete tailor-made solution inclusive of boxes and the rest.
Economy of scale and other reasons made buying the Avis Nelspruit agency a viable business option.

It offers tremendous opportunities for growth, new partnerships with other local businesses which included replenishing the local fleet with Ford Ranger bakkies through Nelspruit Auto. Westvaal Nelspruit supplied us with trucks – four and eight tons – boxed and dropside so the solutions we can now offer, are extensive and market dictated.

By the time readers read this article, Avis will be able to offer you rental of a vehicle trailor and a first ever for Avis, a completely custom-made game viewer which will be employed as a support vehicle for game lodges. Demand has already dictated an order for two more viewers. Avis (internationally) has acquired Budget Rental franchise and the local launch of Budget Van and Truck Rental is scheduled for October.
“Avis Nelspruit is buzzing with a number of other business initiatives and business solutions which we will bring to you soon. We welcome introduction to your transport challenges and the opportunity to custom design a solution because we do try harder,” concluded John.
