The Nkomazi-born Jabulani Dhadhla (24), known as “Master” was on trial at the Rise and Shine where he penned a deal for three years and has played only one session (2014/2015) in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) session for Polokwane City.
Dhadhla has played for local football clubs such as Shongwe Highlanders, Mbokodo Wanderers and Driekoppies Barcelona, but started playing football when he was in primary school in 1999.
The Mbombela United defender stated it was more difficult playing in the National Football Division (NFD) than the PSL, because the NFD is full of youngsters who are very quick in play.
He then stated Mbombela United is a big team with so many young talented players, and they all strive for the best.
“I must show up my experience in the field of play always,” said Dhladhla. He reveals his painful moment he played for Polokwane City.
He said at times under coach Kostadin Papic, it was difficult at first because he did not believe in him.
“I personally thank Benson Mhlongo who looked after me and gave me strength, but never gave up on me at all,” said Dhladhla. He continued by saying he was staying with Mhlongo and the former Orlando Pirates defender always encouraged him to work hard.
“But then the coach realise my abilities and started playing me regularly. I feel welcome back here at home with Mbombela United because it was my team at first, I thank the team management and support from family, and am willing to build my name in the book of football,” said Dhaldhla.
Corridor Gazette asked him what his favourite team in the PSL was and he said, “Shapa Bucs Shapa”.
Dhladhla urged all local players to use all the opportunities given in the field of play and take charge to show off their skills and strengths.
