MACHADODORP – Four passengers died when three vehicles, a taxi and two bakkies, were involved in an accident on Monday night at Patatanek on the N4.

According to Hi-Tech Medical Services more than 13 people were injured, the majority of whom seriously.

Paramedics had to rely on their superior skills to assist the victims. A total of five passengers were transported by Hi-Tech for urgent medical attention.

He added that one lane was closed on Tuesday morning to allow personnel to clean up the scene. “When visited the scene this morning there were people cleaning up the debris. One lane had to be closed but traffic was running smoothly,” Mabuza added. The SAPS were also on the scene.
