Take a walk with your doggy to support CANSA
Families and their dogs will come together for a few hours and participate in a 1,6-kilometre walk.
LYDENBURG -The local CANSA branch will host Bark for Life on June 16 at Hoërskool Lydenburg.
Families and their dogs will come together for a few hours and participate in a 1,6-kilometre walk. BFL is a fund-raiser in honour of canine caregivers.
The event presents an opportunity for people to be empowered through their companions and contribute to cancer treatment.
Canine caregivers are guide, service, rescue, therapy, police, cancer-survivor and diagnostic dogs.
According to the chairman of the Lydenburg branch, Isobel Janse van Rensburg, there will be lots of entertainment for the whole family. “We will have dog games, dress-up contests, demonstrations by police and rescue dogs, music, and food stalls,” she said.
The public can compete in groups or alone. Entrance will be R50 per adult, a can or bag of dog food or a blanket and R15 for primary school pupils. Tickets will be available from May 1 at Grab & Munch and Chass Everett.
