BURGERSFORT – Pep Stores at the Absa Centre was once again targeted by a snatch and grab thief last Tuesday.
According to the manager of the store, Ms Sesi Nphogo, a man came walking into the store browsing through the baby clothes, when suddenly he grabbed two baby blankets worth R120 and ran towards the store entrance.
The staff immediately saw what had happened and shouted for the doors to be closed. Community members outside Pep saw the man running from a yelling woman and chased after him. According to an anonymous source, the men caught the culprit and allegedly hit and kicked him repeatedly.
Nphogo said this is not the first incident of its kind, there had been several prior to this.
