MBOMBELA – Dozens of people ran through the city to help raise money for the organisation, which looks after children in need.

The event is inspired by the well-known reality TV show The Amazing Race. There were different stations and pit stops at local businesses and places across town, where each team had to complete an activity to obtain the clue to their next destination.

Corporate teams and families of four joined for this fun event in aid of a good cause. The teams had to work together to get through all the clues and make it to the finishing line.

The day concluded with a well-deserved braai for the participants while judges tallied up the scores. The team that claimed first position was Konika Minolta.

Nomfundo Moyeza of Child Welfare Nelspruit said over R80 000 was raised. “We would like to thank each and every one who took part over the weekend.  ”The proceeds will purchase stationery, uniforms and food parcels,” Moyeza explained.
