Author unearths hidden history of Kruger Park

The launch of Fair Game - A hidden History of the Kruger National Park by David Fleminger was a well-attended, entertaining evening held at A Bica Restaurant at Belladonna Centre on Wednesday.

MBOMBELA – It was one of Lowvelder‘s regular book events, Pen in my Hand.

Fleminger presented a most informative talk on the development of the park as we know it today. He slated some myths and offered a fresh approach on the subject.

Duncan Ballantyne of Mpumalanga Heritage said he found very little to fault the author on his facts. He is looking forward to studying the book.

A review of Fair Game will be published in Lowvelder soon.

Copies are available at the information centre of Kruger Lowveld Tourism at Crossing at R165.

The next Pen in my Hand will take place on Thursday September 14, also at A Bica. Izak du Plessis will give a talk on his new book, Boereverneukers.

Tickets cost R50 per person and include a hearty meal. To book your seat contact 073-329-9238.
