Thabane Primary’s play is performed on air

BURGERSFORT – Pupils from Thabane Primary School in Mabotsha Village recently showed their acting skills when they performed their bullying drama at Thobela FM studios in Polokwane.

The play was listened to by millions of the station’s listeners. The drama focused on harassment and bullying in schools. It was played by six learners from grade six.

In the play one of the pupils is bullied and ridiculed by her classmates, but after sharing her trauma with her teachers and parents the matter is resolved.

Mentor and teacher at the school, Dimakatso Nkoane said the children only had a couple of days to rehearse.

“We learnt about the opportunity and allowed the learners to pick a topic of their choice. They decided that a drama on bullying was perfect as most of learners are victims. We are impressed that Thobela FM aired the play.

The drama was aired during the State your Mind show, hosted by Selaelo Mahlo.
