School teachers tackle each other on cricket field
It was a cricket game with a twist that took place on Lowveld High School's field last week.

Instead of young and vibrant schoolchildren playing, it was slightly older but no less vibrant LHS and Bergvlam school teachers who took one another on during their annual friendly game.
Support was abundant and encouragement often came from the spectators lounging under the gazebos. Many jokes were shared on-and-off field, especially about lack of speed while running. A typical Lowveld heatwave created a haziness across the pitch.

Courtside SPAR dropped off some braai packs, which were put to good use by very hungry cricketers. It was obvious that the two schools were evenly matched in strength and skill, but in the end there could only be one winner.
Bergvlam teachers showed some serious batting skills, despite having to field some fast balls from LHS’ bowlers, and this led to them being crowned the winners.
