Honouring those who fought in the war
The Lone Tree Shellhole of the Memorable Order of Tin Hats (MOTHs) is hosting the Pro Patria Parade memorial service this coming Saturday in Barberton, in honour of those who fought in the war.
Every February this service is hosted at the Garden of Remembrance, where the first monument in the southern hemisphere was raised in memory of all those soldiers who lost their lives in the Border War.
The Garden of Remembrance in Barberton was a army training camp for the Second World War. In the 1970’s a Boer War Memorial was erected in memory of the British soldiers who lost their lives in the Lowveld.
Annually, veterans who served in the war between 1970 to 1994 commemorate those who served with their lives.

The parade is open to all veterans as well as the public. It will consist of a short service as well as a bagpipe performance. To commemorate those who fought in the war, a wreath will be laid.
The Pro Patria Parade Memorial Service takes place on February 8, 16:00 for 17:00, at the Garden of Remembrance in Barberton.
