Local girl making it big in business
Through determination and enthusiasm, she pursued her studies through distance learning and achieved two masters degrees.
A finalist in the eighth Electrical Contractors Association (ECA) Presidential Excellence Awards 2019: women owned business, is a local born businesswoman, Sikhulile Felicity Mtsetfwa (née Mashaba).
The former learner of Catfulani Primary and Sitintile Secondary is one of the women from KaNyamazane who is doing excellent work in the male-dominated electrical industry.
She also owns Swatek Electrical in Gauteng.
Her company operates in the military, aviation and aerospace industries.
Speaking to her during an exclusive interview with Lowvelder Express, the paper learned that she is an independent business consultant with more than 24 years of experience in youth and women development and empowerment programmes.

Mtsetfwa’s accolades include being the 2019 African Author of the Year in the religious category for her book, From Wheels to Heels. “This book presents practical suggestions to help guide a person to cope with a horrific tragedy or illness. It presents a message that God has the final say. It encourages everyone that, when you walk with Christ, nothing is impossible,” she said.

In her busy schedule she also serves on a number of boards. She is also the founding number of organisations to empower girls and women, such as the SHECARES Women Foundation, Past Present Future Foundation and Titus2women Foundation.
