Sisonke Crew members helping the needy in Pienaar

An all-men's social club formed by members from various parts of Pienaar aim to play a part in fighting poverty in the area.

Members of a local men’s club based in this township came to the rescue of a number of families hit by the outbreak of the Covid-19 coronavirus.

Sisonke Crew donated much-needed food parcels and blankets to needy families as part of celebrating its third anniversary.

“With the help of Roots Butchery at Emoyeni Mall, we managed to donate food parcels to nine families in Pienaar and Daantjie.

We would like to thank Roots Butchery for contributing in this manner.

Because of its gesture, we were able to touch the lives of many,” said Nkosingivile Mlilwane, deputy chairperson of the group.

Sisonke Crew is an all-men’s social club formed by members from various parts of Pienaar who aim to play a part in fighting poverty in the area.

The group was formed in 2017 with only a few members, which has now grown to 26.
