MEC Mandla Msibi to deliver a memorial lecture on the life and times of Mthandazo Ngobeni at KaNyamazane
The memorial lecture in honour of this struggle hero will be held on Sunday at the KaNyamazane Community Hall, now known as Mthandazo.
To commemorate Youth Month, the MEC for Cogta and member of the provincial executive structure of the ANC, Mandla Msibi, will deliver a memorial lecture on the life and times of Mthandazo Ngobeni.
Ngobeni was the former ANC Youth League chairperson who died after a short illness on June 21, 2004.

The memorial lecture in honour of this struggle hero will be held on Sunday at the KaNyamazane Community Hall, now known as Mthandazo.
Speaking to Lowvelder Express about the arrangements, the Ehlanzeni regional coordinator, Precious Tonga, said while organising this lecture they were mindful of all the health regulations as set up by government in the fight against the Covid-19 coronavirus.

“This is why we have decided to only allow 50 people in the hall, with their face masks on. The rest can watch proceedings on our Facebook page since we will be live throughout the lecture,” explained Tonga.
She said proceedings will begin at 10:00 at the Mbombela cemetery where they will lay wreaths at the struggle hero’s grave.
Ngobeni, a known politician throughout the province, was also an acclaimed writer. He doctored the discussion document titled, “Is the revolution safe in their hands?”
Msibi, who is tasked with delivering the lecture, served with Ngobeni in the structures of the movement and they became close friends.
