The sky is the limit for eDwaleni born nurse
His dreams came true when he finally completed his postgraduate diploma in clinical nursing science, assessment, treatment and care, and being registered as a nurse specialist by the South African Nursing Council in 2019.
Born and bred at Dwaleni Trust outside KaBokweni, Nkululeko Dlamini (31) is one of the most loved professional male nurses in the Nsikazi region.
Speaking to Lowvelder Express, Dlamini revealed that he is a career-driven young man who is not afraid of challenges.

He completed his undergraduate studies in nursing when he was only 25 in 2013. His nursing career kicked off from eMpakeni Clinic.
He has not looked back since, working hard while continuing to pursue his studies part-time.
“The highlights in my life were graduating for my undergrad qualification and completing my postgrad qualification,” he said.
Dlamini said he ventured into the profession to be the change he wanted to see.
“To be honest, I did not like nurses and what I perceived nursing to be at the time while growing up. I decided to pursue into nursing as a career to make a difference… ‘Be the rainbow in somebody else’s cloud’, as I like to phrase it. What motivates me is being able to change people’s lives in a way that truly matters every single day,” he said.
Hard work and determination resulted in Dlamini being promoted to higher positions.
He is currently serving as a quality assurance coordinator for the Department of Health: Mbombela sub-district office, while pursuing a degree in social sciences.
His job entails ensuring that the community of Mbombela and surrounding areas gets the best possible care with the available resources from several clinics in their respective communities.
In motivating the youth, Dlamini said, “You alone are responsible for your life and the energy you allow into your space. Surround yourself with people who are in line with the vision of who you want to be in the world.”
In his spare time he enjoys reading extensively, singing and outdoor activities.
