Entheos Christian School lost two classes to a runaway veld fire. According to Marianna Lamprecht, the school principal, the two Wendy classes were engulfed by a fire on Friday afternoon.

She said it is unfortunate that they had to lose these classes, although they are grateful that it occurred after school hours.

“There were no injuries. Mash FM, Deon Broekman of Rapid Response and his team, as well as community members assisted during the incident.

“If it was not for the help we received we would have lost three classes,” she said. Broekman said it was not an easy fire to fight, although they managed to contain it.“I would like to urge the community to follow fire precautions,” he said.

Lamprecht added that the school suffered a loss of about R90 000.

“Due to Covid-19 regulations, the school has not felt the impact yet, however, as soon as things get back to normal it will affect us,” she said.
