“I am a food lover, not a fan of eating, but cooking… and this is one sauce that can be enjoyed with every meal as it can also be used for cooking or marinading,” said Precious Magagula, founder of Emnandi Foods and Beverages.

The 29-year-old entrepreneur from Mashishing dreams big, despite the Covid-19 pandemic that is affecting the whole country.

Magagula established Emnandi Foods during lockdown in June when she was retrenched from Kusile Power Station in Witbank where she was a mechanical fitter.

She often received compliments when she made a meal and therefore decided to share her love of food with the world.

“My initial idea for starting a hot-sauce company was ignited the minute I bit into the food my mother cooked. She would come up with ingredients out of nowhere. My friends love my cooking and encouraged me to share it with the world. That’s how Emnandi Foods was born.

“When I got retrenched, my husband, Lwazi, and I decided to bring the idea to life. He sponsored my business with all the things I needed to start with,” she explained.

Emnandi Foods specialises in sauces that are made from 100 per cent organic vegetables. The ingredients are prepared at high temperatures to ensure an everlasting flavour.

These include onions, green, red and yellow peppers, garlic, paprika, cayenne pepper, olive oil, salt and white vinegar.

Emnandi currently has a new flavour that is ready and available for consumption, and they will launch two more just before the festive season.

“We have finalised the products which will be on the market before December. Our plan is to supply local supermarkets and restaurants.

“South Africans will enjoy their braai this Christmas with the delicious flavour of Emnandi sauces,” she added.

Magagula was born in Rockville. She attended Worm Private School in Burgersfort and Kellysville Primary. She went to Skhila Secondary and matriculated at St Thomas in Burgersfort.

She studied engineering at Nkangala FET College and is currently doing Christian counselling courses with Team Impact University in Witbank. She is also a part- time model and was Miss Witbank 2019.
