Since Pediatric Care Africa (PCA) has taken Soli Deo Gloria Care Centre under its wing, it has had tremendous support from this organisation in the form of food supplies and medical care.

Dr Soretha du Plessis and Dr André Hattingh, executive director and founder of Pediatric Care Africa, based in White River, visited Soli Deo Gloria on Heritage Day.

Du Plessis had a full appointment book with many patients to see. Many other visits and donations are scheduled for Soli Deo Gloria this year.

Last Thursday to Sunday, Hattingh and his biker friends drove an approximate distance of 1 086 kilometres through Mpumalanga to Gauteng for the “Ride for a Child Campaign” to generate funds for 1 000 surgeries for 1 000 children.

Hattingh and his friends passed through Lydenburg to hand over food and medical supplies to Soli Deo Gloria.

Residents were also allowed to ride with the bikers and each received a badge, stating: “I Support Ride for Children 2020”.

Hattingh emphasised that the funds for the surgeries will be split between 500 children in South Africa and 500 in Mozambique.

Guest bikers from around South Africa were invited to join in the ride-along on any part of the route.

The hashtag #HelpMyOp campaign is to raise awareness regarding the plight of the children who require surgeries and simply cannot get help.
