Security guard arrested after business robbery at Damelin Nelspruit

The arrested security guard appeared in the Nelspruit Magistrate's Court today and the case was postponed to February 5.

A business robbery at Damelin Nelspruit in Ferreira Street last Monday, saw two suspects making off with a number of computers.

According to the Nelspruit police spokesperson, Capt Zandile Gqawa, the robbers tied up the security guard before fleeing the scene with the stolen goods.

“The police immediately started with the investigation which led them to a shop in Nelspruit where the computers were discovered,” said Gqawa.

The stolen computers that was recovered by the Nelspruit police.

She added that the security guard was allegedly complicit in the robbery and was arrested by the police.

“Romeo Ncube (26), a security guard appeared in court in connection with a business robbery incident that took place in the early hours of last Monday.

“Ncube was arrested and police are still looking for his accomplice.

“The arrested security guard appeared in the Nelspruit Magistrate’s Court yesterday and the case was remanded to February 5.
