Mentally challenged man sought

SEKHUKHUNE – Sekhukhune police have launched a manhunt for a mentally disabled suspect who allegedly murdered a 44-year-old man, Mpho Joseph Sekele, on Monday at Ga-Mashegoana village while they visited a local traditional healer.

“At about 00:30 on Monday, the police received information about a murder in the area. They quickly responded and arrived at the scene of the crime, together with emergency personnel. The victim was severely injured and was certified dead by emergency medical services.

“Allegedly, the victim and the suspect were sleeping together in a room at their traditional healer where they were both receiving treatment when the incident took place. The suspect stabbed the victim several times with a sharp instrument and thereafter fled from scene, wearing a blanket and shorts. The suspect is allegedly having mental challenges,” said Limpopo SAPS spokesperson Mamphaswa Seabi.
