Furnmart donates to local crèche

STEELPOORT – The children of Kgaladi Crèche in Ga-Mampuru may look forward to a more comfortable learning environment and a brighter future. On Saturday May 15, Furnmart upgraded the buildings at the crèche and donated teaching aids.
The employees of Furnmart Burgersfort painted the walls at the centre, donated snacks and groceries and also shared a meal with the kids and their parents.
“We also handed everyone our trademark grocery bags. This is a form of us giving back to our communities. The parents are our clients and some of the kids will work for Furnmart in years to come. We saw a need to assist this crèche and we are glad that this brought a smile to the kids. Every child deserves an opportunity to be taught in a decent place, with proper facilities,” said store manager, Anna Ndlovu.
She also took the opportunity to invite locals to visit Furnmart in order to buy their furniture.
The principal of the crèche, Enock Maredi, was extremely grateful.
“The building’s paint was peeling off.We are happy with what Furnmart has done for us. Our classrooms look newer and tidy now. We hope other companies would also invest in education. Currently we have more than 80 kids at our centre, and sometimes we experience challenges with food, teaching aids and other resources.”
Maredi said the contributions would also improve the quality and standard of learning at the crèche.
Thanking the good Samaritans, the kids treated the guests to some singing, dancing and poetry.
