Romans FC demolish Thabane Sticks FC in final
Three goals in the space of 15 minutes handed Romans FC another win in the Mabotsha Soccer Tournament.
The top-eight soccer tournament was played at Sehloi sports grounds. Romans from Praktiseer gave
Thabane Sticks a lesson in football in the final match. Thabane Sticks seemed fatigued during the match, as they had just played Morulaneng Soccer Club in the semi-finals earlier that day.
The latter lost 4-1 paving the way for a final between Romans and Thabane. The final was a mismatch as Romans scored three quick goals early in the second half. The seemingly tired Thabane players pushed for a consolation goal but failed to convert during the opportunities created. The home side ended up losing the match 3-0. The management of Romans applauded their players for showing resilience and dedication to clinch the final.
“We played our best football in the final. They had an excellent first half, but we knew they would get tired in the second stanza and we will capitalise on our chances,” said Mvuleni Mnisi.
