Model has passion for her community
Nadia Milazi did not let any shortcomings deter her from achieving her goal of entering Miss Teen Universe South Africa 2022. Just as well, because this dream of hers resulted in her being named a semi-finalist out of 125 participants.
This self-assured young lady is currently a grade 10 learner at Mashishing High School. One of her passions is singing; she is a member of the Imvano Apostolic Church choir and she loves playing netball in her free time. “I want people to see that you can make your dreams come true. And I want that to translate into the passion I have for community work. You should grab opportunities like this with both hands, regardless of whether you are scared or not,” said Nadia. Among her passion projects is the plight against nyaope addiction in the township. “I see so many young people addicted to nyaope. They must realise there is a better life for them than struggling with addiction. I hope to establish a feeding scheme or meal plan for these addicts.
It they are fed and taken care of, it would be easier to start helping them,” she continued. Another issue close to Nadia’s heart is teenage pregnancies. Whenever she gets an opportunity to talk to young people, that is one of the first issues she addresses. “It’s about empowering young people and breaking stereotypes about drug addicts and pregnant teenagers,” she said. Nadia has immense support from the community and she hopes her personality and passion will win her votes. She needs all the votes she can get. Contact her mother, Gladys Milazi, on 073 625 8622 or John Nyundu (Nsizwa Nyundu Foundation) on 072 568 2342, and they will forward the details for the voting process.
