BURGERSFORT – A mob attacked and killed two men in Madiseng on Tuesday. The deceased were allegedly
part of a gang that targeted local homes to steal TVs.
The Limpopo SAPS said the incident was reported and they rushed to the scene. Upon arrival, they found two
deceased men lying on the ground, surrounded by community members.
“The deceased had sustained multiple wounds to their heads and legs, and both were tied up with
electric cables. One of the deceased was positively identified by a relative at the scene as Putana Mahlaki, aged
37, but the other one is currently unknown,” said the Limpopo SAPS spokesperson, Brig Motlafela Mojapelo. Investigations continue.
The provincial police commissioner, Lt Gen Thembi Hadebe, said, “These faceless people who commit these
brutal murders under the darkness of night will be hunted down and brought to book. We urge community members with information to assist the police in tracking down these criminals.”
The motive for the incident is unknown at this stage, but mob justice cannot be ruled out. Anyone with information that might assist investigations, may contact Det Col Mahlathini Ngele on 082 573 3645 or
