Sekhukhune United visit Burgersfort in all their glory
Every member of the team was introduced to members of the crowd who were excited to see their football icons. The team concluded their tour with a visit to the Royal House of Bapedi in Mohlaletse on Sunday.
DStv Premiership side Sekhukhune United arrived in Burgersfort for the first time after their promotion to the elite league.
Babina Noko’s players, the technical team and team management visited Tšate Heritage Site on Friday.
At Tšate they learned about the history of Bapedi. They also placed roses and posed for photos next to the statue of King Sekhukhune I.

On Saturday, locals witnessed the team’s training session at Ga Motodi Stadium.
The players, led by the head coach, Macdonald Makhubedu, and his assistant, Thabo Senong, had a training session at the newly erected stadium.
Among the players who took part in the training session were newly signed stars Willard Katsande, Justice Chabalala, Thabo Rakhale, Talent Chawapiwa, Edwin Gyimah, Toaster Nsabata, Nicholus Lukhubeni, Rowan van Vuuren and Ryan de Jongh.
Immediately after their training, the team headed to the owner Simon Malatji’s home in Praktiseer.
They interacted with locals, urging them to support the team.

Speaking to members of the media, coach Makhubedu highlighted that they will play an attractive brand of football in the upcoming season.
“We will work hard to remain in the PSL.
“We will do our best to fight for the team and ensure we get maximum points in our games,” he said.
The team also introduced their captain for the 2021/22 season, Tapuwa Kapini. The vice-captain is talented midfielder Yusuf Maart.
Sekhukhune United’s first match in the PSL is against Chippa United on Saturday 15:00 at Makhulong Stadium in Gauteng.
