BURGERSFORT – Phothoma Security Services has been excellently securing and protecting what belongs to its clients for a decade. The company celebrated its 10th anniversary with a glittering ceremony on September 3 at Thaba Moshate Hotel, Casino and Convention Resort.

The event was attended by the company’s employees, a local priest, mentors as well as the management and directors of the company.

Dedicated security officers, as well as staff and management, were honoured with certificates, gongs and shopping vouchers. One hard-working officer (Alec Mbuyane) was rewarded with a brand-new Defy refrigerator. Detailing the company’s achievements and successes since its inception in 2011, the two directors, Thabo Thobejane and Patrick Phoku, thanked the staff members for their dedication to Phothoma.

Phothoma Security Services celebrated 10 years anniversary on Friday.

“When we first started it was very challenging. We had only one client and a few guards. We took from our families to ensure Phothoma succeeds and is run efficiently. It was challenging. There are always people who will try to derail us, but we will always vanquish.”

The directors said Phothoma has about 500 employees.

“Through prayers and hard work, the company has grown bigger. We have secured contracts from all corners of Limpopo, Mpumalanga and Gauteng. “We also managed to open a training academy at the Maphutha Ditshaba building where we prepare our officers” said Phothoma’s directors Patrick Phoku and Thabo Thobejane.   “This company also managed to have its own firearm training. We have our own shooting range (SECPRO). We urge locals to come improve their shooting skills there.”

The directors added, “We also have our technical division, which does alarm installation and monitoring. “Our main achievement is empowering our people. We recognise excellence in our company. If you work hard there are big opportunities awaiting.”

Among the company’s future goals are to have offices in Gauteng and to have a gigantic building in Sekhukhune. The event was concluded with a cake cutting and the attendees sharing a meal and drinks at the casino’s restaurant.
