More than 100 000 people register to vote

With the November 1 municipal elections around the corner, 123 552 voters of Mpumalanga have opted to register over the weekend.

Lowvelder went to a few registration points around Mbombela and received much of the same feedback from various party representatives.

They said there was quite a bit fewer people that registered in person this year, but ascribed this to the option of registering online.

Throughout the weekend, there seem to have been glitches in both the online and manual systems, but these were resolved in most cases.
