Tubatse calm during national EFF shutdown
The R37 and R555 are open.
Tubatse remains calm amid the nationwide shutdown by the EFF. There is free flow of cars on both the major routes, the R37 and the R555 to Burgersfort.
Early in the morning, a truck was used to block the R555 next to Tubatse Residence, but the SAPS reacted swiftly to take the vehicle off road.
Several grocery shops are also operating in Burgersfort, Jane Furse and Ga Nkwana.
The Fetakgomo Tubatse Local Municipality’s offices at Ga Nkwana and Burgersfort are operational.
Taxis from Eastern Leolo, Druta and other local associations are also operating as usual.
Updates will be provided as the situation unfolds.
