Surfer unharmed in shark attack
Mick Fanning, finalist from Australia was attacked by a shark in the line-up

The Jeffreys Bay men’s Samsung Galaxy Surfing Championship tour has been called off on Sunday after Mick Fanning, finalist from Australia was attacked by a shark in the line-up. Fanning was luckily unharmed and after the water was cleared he and fellow finalist, Julian Wilson also from Australia were quickly picked up by nearby safety boats.
Fanning and Wilson decided to split the event prize money; each surfer will receive second place points per World Surf League rules.
