Municipal

Speakers outreach

The Steve Tshwete Local Municipality's Speakers Cllr Robert Xaba, is taking the National Speakers outreach to another level.

On Wednesday afternoon the speakers invited community members, Councillors and other stakeholders to engage with public figures from entertainment, sports and government itself about pressing issues affecting young people in the municipality.

“There is great potential and talent within the Steve Tshwete local municipality, we have the likes of DJ Dosline who is doing great in the entertainment industry. We need proper structures to promote them, said Sikhululo Maliwe popularly known as Lulo Cafe.

The aim of the event was to encourage the youth and find a way to help them grow in their respective careers or dreams and ultimately boost the municipality’s economic growth.

“I am happy with the outcome of the outreach. Many delegates committed themselves to the course. One promising goal keeper from Middelburg has been taken in by the Sundowns Academy. This is big and we are going even bigger, said Cllr Xaba.

The likes of Joel Masilela (soccer legend), Dumiso “Shabba” Mavuso (Legwalagwala fm), Given (Rise fm) and Lulo Cafe attended to the event.

The same initiative donated 250 pairs of shoes and two mobile classrooms at Mkhulu Combined School last week Friday.
