Man buried month after death

The burial of a man in eMalahleni had finally been planned exactly a month after he died in a head-on collision in an accident in the Roossenekal area near Stoffberg.

Mr Fana Louis Maseko’s (51) body was burnt beyond recognition and could only be identified with DNA tests. They later heard that the driver of the other vehicle died four days later in a Pretoria Hospital.

According to family, the process to do the DNA tests and to get his body for burial took so long because of the forensic strike the previous month.

All that was left of the vehicle in which Mr Maseko died.

“We had to wait for the previous people who were already on the waiting list, to be cleared first,” his sister, Fallon, said.

The burial service will be held on Sunday at 07:00 at Stand 382 Clewer (eMalahleni).

From there everybody will leave at 08:00 to the Kromdraai Cemetery.
