ANC opens case against ‘racist’ Facebook user
Members of the ANC Women’s League and Youth League in Middelburg have officially opened a criminal case against a Facebook user.

The case was opened at the Middelburg Police Station on Tuesday.
This comes after a picture of a group of people swimming in the Kees Taljaard Sports Complex swimming pool last weekend was posted on a Facebook group, and several people made racist remarks about the swimmers.

Screen grabs of the comments were circulated online and angered many residents.
The ANC opened a case against one of the Facebook users identifying himself as Billy Weber after he compared the swimmers to “monkeys in a circus”.
“This is what happens when you run a circus full of monkeys,” he posted.

Last weekend, residents living near the sports complex complained about the loud music and taxis blocking their driveways carrying screaming children.
Residents in Impala and Bokmakierie Street called law enforcers, who reportedly arrived hours later.
