No ambulances – Man stabbed with bottle, rushed to hospital on back of bakkie
Stabbing victim waited in vain on ambulance for more than an hour.
The man stabbed with a broken bottle shortly before 16:00 was only taken to hospital moments ago on the back of a bakkie.
Samaritans rushed to his side and provided first aid.
He was loaded into the back of a bakkie and taken to hospital after multiple maydays were called on local WhatsApp groups.
People assisting the stabbing victim on the scene was notified more than an hour after the stabbing that no ambulances were available.

The decision was taken to transport him to hospital on the back of the bakkie due to fear that the victim was bleeding out.
The area is very dangerous with lots of vagrants, drug dealers and drug users.
There’s also a school right next to where the man was attacked.
Eyewitnesses on the scene says the municipality has an obligation to clean the area of overgrowth due to vagrants hiding and sleeping in the bushes.
An attempted rape was also reported in the same area last week.
