Body of missing elderly woman found

The body of an elderly woman, who was reported missing since March 18, has been found.

Duki Emmah Mahlangu (78) from Siyabuswa C was reported missing on March 18.

Lieutenant Colonel Jubu Ndubane, Mpumalanga Provincial Police spokesperson, confirmed this morning (Thursday) that the body was found last Thursday after she drowned.

Ndubane said the family members positively identified Mahlangu, but douldn’t provide details of how and where exactly the body was found.

“I am still waiting for the report to be able to tell where her body was found. I will avail that information upon receipt,” said Ndubane.

Mahlangu was reportedly last seen at about 12:00 on March 18 when she allegedly left home to visit her sister in Mgodini Section.

Her family reported the matter to the SAPS Siyabuswa on March 19 and a missing person’s case was opened.

A search operation for her was conducted without success until her body was found.
