Residents benefit from electrification initiatives

Four electrical infrastructure installation projects in Makhuduthamaga have been completed, with a total of 509 households assisted.

There were 38 households electrified in Soetvel, 124 in Mabintane, 100 in Leeukraal, and 247 in Mohlarekoma villages.

This was heard during the local municipality’s Ordinary Council Meeting held at the council chamber in Jane Furse on Wednesday.

Thomas Mashabela, municipal spokesperson, said the meeting deliberated on legislative and executive reports for the fourth quarter of the previous financial year, as well as progress on infrastructure and electrification projects.

It was also revealed that the construction of Kome internal road is complete, while the 2.1km Glen Cowie old Post Office to Phokwane Phase 2 access road, Cabrieve, and Madibong internal roads are progressing smoothly.

Mashabela added that the development of the 3.2km access road from Brooklyn to Makoshala villages is underway.
