Suspected drug dealer remains behind bars

A suspect facing a charge of drug dealing in Sekhukhune was remanded into custody when he appeared before the Nebo Magistrate’s Court.

Molefeng Shadrack Mokgoashane (43) appeared before the court on Tuesday when he was remanded into custody until August 4 for a possible bail application.

Sekhukhune District police and private security personnel nabbed Mogoashane in Mamone Village following a tip-off on Monday.

Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, Limpopo Provincial Police spokesperson, said the suspect was arrested while walking on the streets in the village during an intelligence-driven operation.

Ledwaba stated that the police found the suspect in possession of crystal meth and heroine concealed in three transparent plastic packets, with an estimated value of R20 000.

The police discovered the packets inside the suspect’s side bag after he was stopped and searched. The drugs and cash were confiscated.
