Maraganeng road project on track
Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality has confirmed the Maraganeng road project is 76% complete and progressing well.
Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality has expressed satisfaction with the progress made on the Maraganeng Village internal access road and stormwater project.
Simon Makua, municipal spokesperson, said the 3.4km road is being changed from gravel to paved, and a stormwater system is also being installed. A new intersection is also being developed on the R579.
Makua indicated 29 temporary jobs have been made for local members of the community, with 19 youths and one person with a disability benefitting from the opportunity.
He added that nine small, medium and micro enterprises have also benefitted from the project since its inception.
“The municipality appreciates the continued co-operation of the Maraganeng community and looks forward to the successful completion of this impactful project,” stated Makua.
The development is currently at a 76% completion stage. Makua pointed out that the project will enhance road safety for all users, improve accessibility and mobility for residents and businesses, and stimulate local economic development when it is completed.
