Mayor advises entrepreneurs to seize opportunities

Makhuduthamaga Local Municipality’s mayor called on entrepreneurs to seize opportunities during the Business Expo held at Mogoroane Village.

Makhuduthamaga Local Municipality Mayor Merah Mahlase highlighted the institution’s economic development prospects during the Business Expo held at Boeketlong Lodge in Mogoroane Village on Wednesday.

The business gathering aimed to bring together local entrepreneurs, development agencies and community stakeholders to share insights, network, and explore growth opportunities.

Mahlase called on local businesses to seize opportunities that the municipality offers and use them to grow.

The mayor emphasised that entrepreneurs are key to the local economy’s prosperity. The entrepreneurs expressed gratitude for the Business Expo, describing it as an invaluable opportunity to connect, network, and gain insights.

They further lauded the event’s ability to afford them the rare space to interact with business experts.

Thomas Mashabela, municipal spokesperson, shared that the Expo involved interactive discussions in the form of commissions, allowing the entrepreneurs to explore challenges, opportunities, and collaborations.

“The event substantiates that small businesses are the backbone of the local economy. It left participants motivated, informed and ready to go,” Mashabela expressed.

Fetakgomo Tubatse Special Economic Zone, Sekhukhune District Municipality, the National Youth, Small Enterprise Development and Finance and Limpopo Economic Development agencies, as well as the Limpopo Treasury, provided guidance on funding, training, and business development.
