Ga-Manoke gets new traditional office
Ga-Manoke Traditional Authority in Fetakgomo Tubatse Local Municipality has a newly constructed council office, which was officially handed over on December 5.
Acting Premier and MEC for Finance Kgabo Mahoai led the ceremony on behalf of Limpopo Premier Dr Phophi Ramathuba.
Several traditional councils face running the affairs of their communities in inappropriate structures, a situation which hinders their mandate to effectively serve their people.
Providing proper buildings for the traditional councils in need is the provincial government’s commitment to ensuring that traditional leaderships are supported in the interest of the communities they lead.
Mahoai stressed the government’s undertaking to strengthen the institution of traditional leadership in the province.
The MEC emphasised the importance of traditional institutions in preserving cultural identity and guiding communities.
The new office will serve as a hub for community administration, offering services such as registering customary marriages, issuing permits, and providing general support for the community.
Mahoai indicated that the office aims to bring structure and modern functionality to the traditional institution, symbolising progress, unity and a prosperous future for the Ga-Manoke community.
“It will support economic self-determination, cultural preservation, and social justice,” Mahoai added.

Acting Sekhukhune District Municipality Executive Mayor Kukie Sefala-Makgolane, Council Speaker Kgoediebotse Chego, Acting Chairperson of Limpopo House of Traditional and Khoisan Leaders Kgoshigadi Malepe, CONTRALESA Chairperson Kgoshigadi Sebopela, and Mayor Eddie Maila formed part of the delegation.
The traditional offices further serve as a significant investment in restoring the dignity, strengthening traditional governance, and supporting the work of traditional leaders as key partners in the development of communities, social cohesion, and stability.
The Fetakgomo Tubatse Local Municipality commended the ongoing support of Limpopo provincial government in fulfilling its mandate.
The opening of the facility follows two months after the handover of the state-of-the-art Bakwena Ba Matsepe Traditional Authority office in Tafelkop within Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality on October 3.
