Police probe gunfire at graveside

Shots were fired at a funeral in Kliphavul Village last Saturday, and police are working to find the culprits.

Police are searching for suspects who opened fire during a funeral service in Kliphavul Village, Elandskraal, on Saturday morning. A video circulating on social media shows mourners firing their firearms at the graveside, causing shock in the community.

The funeral was held for a local towing industry worker, and preliminary reports indicate that a group of attendees began firing shots while the burial was taking place.

Authorities have opened a case for the negligent handling of firearms and are working to identify those responsible and seize the weapons used.
