Spotted a few months ago in action at the Nürburgring in Germany is what seems to be Audi’s all-new SQ3 crossover, wearing a slightly more hostile body and rocking quadruple exhaust tips.
From Motor1 spy pictures, the SQ2 also features a beefier set of alloy wheels matched with a lowered sports suspension and larger brakes. Those were all signs of a performance-oriented version which will likely be baptized “SQ2.”
Power will likely come from the same 2.0-litre turbo-four engine that powers the S3 facelift. Output power will be rated at 228kW and 380Nm of torque as is the case with the manual S3.
The S tronic-equipped SQ2 is expected to bump torque to 400Nm. Like all S-badged models from Audi, the first-ever SQ2 will come as standard with the company’s proprietary quattro all-wheel-drive system.
Speaking to AudiSA, the all-new Q2 will be making its way to our shores during the first quarter of 2017 with the powerful SQ2 to make its way thereafter.
Details about the price tag are not available at this point, but you can imagine the stronger engine along with the other hardware upgrades will command a significant premium.
