Jaguar saying goodbye to F-Type with special ZP Edition
Of the 150 examples the Leaping Cat will make, only two coupe models have been approved for South Africa.

Ahead of its move towards complete electrification in 2025, Jaguar parent company, JLR, has removed the wraps from a special edition version of the F-Type that will be coming to South Africa in batches of two next year.

Limited globally to 150 units, the F-Type ZP Edition not only farewells Coventry’s sportscar produced for a decade, but also the supercharged V8 engine underneath its bonnet in lieu of the EV transition.

A homage to two racing versions of the E-Type made in the 1960s, the ZP is the work of JLR’s SV Bespoke division and though set to be offered in both the coupe and convertible, bodystyles the confirmed examples heading to South Africa will be modelled on the fixed-head only.
Essentially a cosmetic undertaking without any additional grunt, the exterior comes decked-out in a choice of two colours; Crystal Grey Gloss and Oulton Blue Gloss, both a white number roundel on the doors.
Mounted on gloss black diamond-turned 20-inch alloy wheels, the ZP Edition’s exterior is rounded off by gloss black brake calipers and ZP Edition badges on the front wings.
Inside, ZP Edition treadplates and an SV Bespoke number’s plaque adorns the interior, along with gloss black inserts and so-called fluted detailing on the seats.
In accordance with the exterior colour, the F-Type ZP Edition’s interior is finished in two colours; Mars Red with two-tone Ebony leather on the Oulton Blue examples, and Navy Blue with Ebony two-tone leather on Crystal Grey painted variants.
Farewell to the V8
As mentioned, JLR has kept the 5.0-litre AJ supercharged V8 engine up front unchanged, meaning outputs of 423kW/700Nm fed to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
Top speed is limited to 300 km/h with the 0-100 km/h sprint said to be over in 3.7 seconds in the case of the coupe.
No pricing yet
Its name not part of Jaguar’s electric transition for use on an EV replacement come 2025, pricing for the F-Type ZP Edition was not revealed, although projections point to a premium over the model on which it is based, the F-Type R, which retails from R3 009 900.
As such, expect Jaguar to only disclose more details next year.
